Delhivery, one of India's largest logistics and supply-chain companies, has elevated Chief Business Officer Vani Venkatesh to the newly expanded role of Deputy CEO, giving her oversight of revenue, marketing and customer experience across the Gurugram-based, NSE- and BSE-listed company. The appointment, disclosed in a stock exchange filing on August 8, takes effect immediately.
The promotion coincides with the planned departure of Ajith Pai, Delhivery's Chief Operating Officer and a founding member of the company, who will leave at the close of business on September 15, 2026, to pursue opportunities independently. The company said Pai's responsibilities have already been transitioned to its new executive operations leadership team, aiming to ensure continuity through the handover period.
Venkatesh joined Delhivery in February 2025 as Chief Business Officer and a Key Managerial Personnel, taking charge of the company's revenue functions. In her expanded role, she will continue overseeing revenue while adding leadership of marketing and customer experience, working closely with Delhivery's operations teams — effectively consolidating the company's commercial and customer-facing functions under a single senior executive.
“Vani's elevation reflects her increasing responsibilities and impact at Delhivery and is a part of our commitment to training executive leadership within the company to perform multiple new roles,” said Sahil Barua, Delhivery's Managing Director and CEO. The framing positions the promotion as part of a broader internal leadership-development push at the company, rather than an isolated appointment.

Venkatesh brings more than two decades of experience across telecom, consulting, consumer goods and healthcare. Before joining Delhivery, she held senior leadership positions at Bharti Airtel — including CEO of Global Business and CEO of the Delhi-NCR region, as well as Chief Marketing Officer and CEO of its retail business — alongside earlier roles at McKinsey & Company, Unilever and Abbott Nutrition. She holds a postgraduate diploma in management from IIM Bangalore and is a qualified chartered accountant, cost and works accountant, and company secretary.
Pai's exit marks the departure of one of Delhivery's earliest executives. A founding member who rose from Chief Financial Officer to Chief Operating Officer, Pai holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Surathkal and a PGDM from IIM Bangalore, having joined Delhivery after roles at the Lodha Group and Tata Consultancy Services. Barua credited Pai with “invaluable contributions” to the company since its earliest days, spanning both financial stewardship and operational strategy focused on technology and data science.
The reshuffle follows a series of earlier 2026 leadership appointments at Delhivery, including Varun Bakshi as Chief Sales Officer and Vikas Kapoor as Chief Strategy Officer, part of what the company describes as an ongoing effort to build executive depth as it scales. Delhivery's board has separately approved the reappointment of Barua as Managing Director and CEO, and Kapil Bharati as Whole-time Director, Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer, for five-year terms, subject to shareholder approval — signalling continuity at the top even as the company works through its most significant operational leadership transition since its 2022 public listing.
