Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup E3 Electric.AI has launched its debut vehicle, the E3 TRION, positioning it as India's first AI-powered intelligent electric scooter. The launch marks the company's entry into a passenger two-wheeler market already crowded with established players including Ather Energy, River Mobility, Ola Electric, Bajaj and TVS.
The TRION is available in three variants — C1, C1x and C2 — at introductory ex-showroom Bengaluru prices of Rs 99,999, Rs 1,09,999 and Rs 1,19,999 respectively. The entry-level C1 uses a removable 2.3 kWh LFP battery, while the C1x and C2 carry larger, fixed 3 kWh LFP packs. All three variants are built on 14-inch wheels and use a PMSM hub motor, and the company says its battery system is designed for up to eight years of use, backed by a warranty of up to eight years or 100,000 km.
Central to E3's pitch is what it calls the E3 CommandCenter, a connected platform pairing vehicle and cloud data to deliver predictive diagnostics and service alerts before a breakdown occurs. Paired with a TripSense cockpit system and a five-inch display, the scooter offers more than 100 connected features, including a ten-second full-vehicle health scan, a smart trip planner with real-time charger location, remote battery monitoring and vehicle controls, geofencing, SOS assistance and a dashcam. E3 says the top-spec C2 offers a claimed top speed of 82 km/h and can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in six seconds, while the C1x offers the longest claimed range in the lineup at 165 km under India's IDC test cycle.
Founder and CEO Sanjeev P. described the TRION's design philosophy as being drawn from the Mars Rover — built to be stable, purposeful and adaptable to real-world uncertainty — with the AI layer treated as core architecture rather than a bolted-on feature. The company said the scooter was engineered to directly address the concerns that have historically held back EV adoption in India: range anxiety, safety, service reliability and total cost of ownership.
Pre-bookings for the TRION have opened in Bengaluru through the company's official website, with an experience centre set to open in Koramangala from August 15 and expansion into additional cities to follow. E3 Electric.AI says it holds 13 patents and has filed more than 40 intellectual property applications, and was recognised among the NASSCOM Emerge 50 Awards 2025 winners. The launch comes shortly after the company raised Rs 100 crore through a mix of equity and debt funding, and follows India's two-wheeler segment recording sales growth of over 10% in June 2026 — a sign that the underlying market opportunity remains substantial even as competitive intensity rises.
