Oorjaa, an asset-light logistics platform built around AI-driven delivery and supply-chain optimisation, has raised a Series A round led by IP Ventures, adding to a steady stream of capital flowing into India's technology-enabled logistics sector.
The company's asset-light model — coordinating third-party fleets and delivery capacity through software rather than owning vehicles outright — mirrors an approach favoured by many of the more capital-efficient logistics start-ups to have emerged in India over the past several years, allowing faster geographic scaling without the balance-sheet burden of vehicle ownership.
Oorjaa's platform applies AI across core logistics functions including route planning, delivery-partner allocation and supply-chain visibility, aiming to compress the operational overhead that has traditionally made last-mile and mid-mile logistics one of the more labour- and coordination-intensive parts of e-commerce and retail supply chains.
IP Ventures' backing adds to a broader pool of early-stage capital targeting India's logistics-technology sector, an area that has benefited from the country's rapid e-commerce and quick-commerce growth, both of which depend heavily on efficient, cost-effective last-mile delivery networks to remain profitable at scale.

The funding arrives amid intensifying competition in AI-driven logistics software, as both start-ups and established logistics providers race to embed machine-learning-based optimisation into route planning, demand forecasting and fleet allocation — functions where even marginal efficiency gains can translate into meaningful cost savings across high-volume delivery operations.
For Oorjaa specifically, the asset-light structure is likely to remain central to its growth strategy, allowing the company to expand into new geographies and verticals by onboarding additional third-party delivery partners rather than committing capital to owned fleet expansion — a model that trades some operational control for significantly lower capital intensity.
As India's logistics sector continues its shift toward software-first, AI-augmented operations, start-ups like Oorjaa are positioning themselves as the connective infrastructure layer beneath the country's fast-growing e-commerce and quick-commerce ecosystems. The Series A funding gives the company runway to prove that its technology-first, asset-light approach can scale profitably even as competition for logistics-technology market share intensifies.
