Shillong's Shamrock AI Raises $5 Million Seed Round to Make Enterprise AI Agents Accountable

Shamrock AI, an enterprise software startup headquartered in Shillong, the capital of the north-eastern Indian state of Meghalaya, has raised $5 million in seed funding to help large companies deploy artificial intelligence agents reliably in their most important business operations.

The round was led by Hyderabad-based Endiya Partners, with participation from Capria Ventures, according to Dealroom and Entrackr. The company, founded in 2026 by Sarat Addanki, Michael Gallagher and Anuraag Nallapati, also has offices in Hyderabad and San Francisco.

Shamrock will use the money for product development, to strengthen its team and to scale its go-to-market efforts.

The Problem: Trusting AI Agents

As companies race to deploy AI agents, software that can take actions on its own across business systems, a fundamental question has emerged: how can an organisation be confident that an agent will behave correctly in a complex, interconnected environment?

In large enterprises, a single business process might touch an enterprise resource planning system, a customer database, a supply chain platform and a finance application, each with its own configuration and data. An agent that works in a test environment may fail in production because it lacks context about how those systems interact, or because a configuration has changed.

Shamrock describes its product as an "agentic assurance" platform, designed to make AI agents accountable and validated before and during deployment in mission-critical processes.

A Knowledge Graph of the Enterprise

At the core of Shamrock's platform is what it calls an Enterprise Business Knowledge Graph, which maps how a company's business processes, systems, data and configurations connect. The graph gives AI agents the operating context they need to function correctly, and allows the platform to continuously test and validate processes.

The company's initial focus is agentic test lifecycle automation for large enterprise resource planning transformations, including migrations to SAP S/4HANA. Such migrations are among the most complex and expensive IT projects that large companies undertake, often running for years and involving extensive testing to ensure that critical processes such as order-to-cash and procure-to-pay continue to work.

Over time, Shamrock plans to extend into data observability and autonomous business process automation.

Fortune 500 Customers From Day One

Despite being founded this year, Shamrock says it already serves multiple Fortune 500 companies, including an unnamed Fortune 100 AI hardware manufacturer and an unnamed Fortune 100 healthcare company. It has not disclosed the number of customers or contract values.

Securing large enterprise customers early is unusual for a seed-stage company and suggests the founders bring established relationships and domain expertise in enterprise software and ERP transformations.

Building From the Northeast

Shamrock's location is notable. Northeast India has historically been underrepresented in the country's startup ecosystem, which is concentrated in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Hyderabad. A venture-backed AI company headquartered in Shillong signals that high-value technology work can be built outside the traditional hubs.

The company plans to keep 70 to 80 per cent of its workforce in India, with a client-facing team in the United States, and to expand its presence in the Middle East. The model reflects a common approach among Indian enterprise software companies: engineering and delivery teams in India serving global customers, with sales and customer success teams closer to buyers.

Surya Mantha, managing partner at Capria Ventures, described Shamrock as evidence of "the ability to build globally competitive AI businesses from India."

Why Investors Are Backing Assurance

Anvesh Ramineni, a partner at Endiya Partners, pointed to the importance of "making AI systems accountable and independently validated in mission-critical business environments."

That framing reflects a growing recognition in the market. Many enterprises have struggled to move AI projects beyond pilots, often because of concerns about reliability, governance and risk. Industry analysts have warned that a significant share of agentic AI projects may be abandoned because of costs and unclear value. Tools that help organisations test, monitor and trust AI agents could become an essential layer of enterprise AI infrastructure.

Endiya Partners is known for backing deep technology and enterprise companies, while Capria Ventures focuses on technology companies in emerging markets.

Why ERP Migrations Matter

Shamrock's choice of ERP transformations as its entry point is deliberate. Many of the world's largest companies run their core operations on SAP, and a large number are in the midst of migrating to SAP S/4HANA ahead of the end of mainstream support for older SAP systems. These projects can cost hundreds of millions of dollars and involve testing thousands of business processes, from procurement and manufacturing to finance and payroll.

Testing is one of the most time-consuming and expensive parts of these migrations, and failures can be costly, disrupting order processing, financial reporting or supply chains. Automating test design and execution with AI agents, guided by a detailed map of how a company's processes and systems fit together, addresses a clear and urgent pain point. Success in this niche could give Shamrock both revenue and credibility with large enterprises, which it can then use to expand into broader monitoring and automation of business processes powered by AI.

The broader enterprise AI market is evolving quickly. Large software vendors, including SAP itself, are embedding AI agents into their products, while consulting firms and system integrators are building practices around AI-led transformation. Independent assurance tools could find a role in this landscape precisely because they sit outside any single vendor's ecosystem, giving companies an independent check on whether agents from different providers are behaving as intended. That independence is a key part of the pitch that Shamrock and its investors are making to large enterprises.

The Road Ahead

Shamrock enters a competitive field. Established software testing vendors, ERP system integrators and a wave of AI startups are all targeting enterprise AI reliability and automation. The company's differentiation will depend on how effectively its knowledge graph captures the complexity of real enterprise environments and how quickly it can expand beyond its initial focus on ERP migrations.

With $5 million in fresh capital, Fortune 500 customers and a team spanning Shillong, Hyderabad and San Francisco, Shamrock AI has an early foothold in one of the most important challenges of the AI era: making autonomous software trustworthy enough for the processes that companies cannot afford to get wrong.
